We got him to share interesting facets of his life, his interests, and his journey as an M2Peer. </p><p class="text-node" id="l7uvhwdtg">Keep reading to know more about Ragavendharan and what inspires him the most about M2P.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="fa27">How do you usually start your workday?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3uqafbzs7">I begin my day by organizing my works and checking my scheduled meetings. Then, I kickstart with a cup of coffee to set the perfect vibe for the day. Then, I check my emails, respond to them, and get on with my tasks for the day. On alternative days, I have stand-up calls for team discussions.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="f66d">What are your main responsibilities in M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="sw9fbnaol"> My work at M2P takes an end-to-end nature. As a backend developer, my main responsibility is to understand the business requirements. Then, I design product blocks and flows, researching and identifying suitable solutions and technology for any new product development. </p><p class="text-node" id="zxceji3uy">Apart from developing a new product, I am highly responsible for performing the root cause analysis and implementing a scalable solution to the issue. In addition, I also share my understanding of the different aspects of a new product with my team. Here, we work from scratch on the end-to-end process until it becomes a minimal viable product. </p><p class="text-node" id="5jc3ropa5">I have worked on several applications in the past few years, especially the cryptographic related tasks for existing systems. Java, SQL, Linux, data analytics, cryptography, microservices are my strong suites and I also support other teams whenever my expertise is required across products.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2ec4">How have you grown through the years as an M2Peer?</h2><p class="text-node" id="67ff">Simply from ‘Zero to One.’</p><p class="text-node" id="020b">I joined M2P as an intern almost five years back, with no experience in the software domain. From there, I started taking baby steps to where I am here now, and I still have a long way to go.</p><p class="text-node" id="95fc">My prior exposure to development in other programming languages helped me bootstrap swiftly in this domain and ecosystem. My thirst for learning kept me motivated even during hard times. As I have these amazing colleagues and mentors to hold, support, and guide me over the years, now we march forward as a team.</p><p class="text-node" id="444a">I enjoy being in my office, and I often forget to go home as I lose time working. Kuru and I mostly have thought-provoking, heated debates while we discuss solutions. This helped me think out of the box, and we both do it together during implementation.</p><p class="text-node" id="f7e1">I take this as an opportunity to thank Madhu, Muthu, and Prabhu for guiding me through my personal and professional path over these years. I am looking forward to a long journey together ahead.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="51a9">Is there a quote/saying that motivates you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="9dfc">Yes.</p><p class="text-node" id="3b08">‘To walk fast, walk alone. To walk long, walk together.’</p><p class="text-node" id="1f2f">In M2P, we do both. I get motivated to give my best shot every day. I have always admired our team, and the energy in M2P propels me.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="b8c4">What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="e5fa">We are a family, and my family knows me well.</p><p class="text-node" id="49b1">Although, If I need to mention specifically — I love to dance thin in the ground. As a fun-loving and boisterous kid, I dance at almost every festival in my hometown. Taking my interest further, I even learned dance from my brother’s friend, a dancer. Now, I dance to fast beats when I’m alone at home.</p><p class="text-node" id="6ab7">I learned Carnatic music in my school days and even discovered yoga with my brother. I was also selected for district-level tournaments in sports such as Kho-Kho and Cricket in my school days.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="88fd">What inspires you the most about M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="74fc">Our PEOPLE.</p><p class="text-node" id="27d5">When I joined M2P, we were a team of 20, and I was the 20th person to join. So, we had the perfect balance of both work and fun. Coming to work daily was very comfortable and motivating as it felt as if I was hanging out with my close friends.</p><p class="text-node" id="6d09">From the founders to my mentors to everyone in the team, we all are a family here. Looking back, we have grown from there to the office buildings now. Even though if I feel worn out sometimes, people here have always inspired me from our founders to my juniors. I learn a lot from everyone here at M2P.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="cae8">What’s your idea of a perfect day?</h2><p class="text-node" id="u5iebzwu5"> My perfect day would be a day mixed with coffee, working with my team, cracking chats with countless laughs, having discussions, solving problems, and coding.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="670d">What was your career path before joining M2P, and how has it changed?</h2><p class="text-node" id="44bd">Before joining here, I helped run a business for my brother, leading his night shift team. It was a BPO, and I worked hard in building his team and business. But deep down, I always knew that I was a techie.</p><p class="text-node" id="a86e">So, I drifted from there, and in the next couple of months, I landed in M2P. I have entirely rejuvenated as a person. As I was a fresher to the domain when I just started, I took baby steps. And, with the help of the programming languages that I excelled at, I started growing day by day with M2P.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="a20c">What are your hobbies/interests?</h2><p class="text-node" id="25fa">My interests are lined up as I am usually a person who is passionate about learning new things from cosmology-seismology to cooking-gardening and much more.</p><p class="text-node" id="9af2">But to talk about hobbies, I play carrom, chess, and video games. In addition, I am very fond of cooking. I love both cooking and eating South Indian, French, Mexican, and Italian cuisines. Yes guys, I cook all the time.</p><p class="text-node" id="5fea">I go by describing myself as a person who is ‘mad about traveling,’ hahaha. I have travelled to almost all places in Tamilnadu, and I love driving to hill stations and on empty roads. So, my next destination would be the Pothigai hills.</p><p class="text-node" id="4187">I like to read a lot of books, work on papers of many renowned scientists like Einstein. Wikipedia is everything to me. I love to work on research papers in Astronomy and Quantum physics. Since my childhood, I was also eager to do gardening in our house.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="1013">Anything else you want to share about M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="ece4">M2P is an exquisite place to learn, work, and grow. An avid gamer, movie buff, and travel enthusiast, Vijay gives us a rundown of his M2P journey, personal interests.</p><p class="text-node" id="ed39">Keep reading to know more about Vijay and how he has grown through the years as an M2Peer.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2ea4">How do you usually start your workday?</h2><p class="text-node" id="e34a">My mornings are very relaxed. Having been part of the team for half a decade now, I have become an early riser. The serene sunrise and the sounds of birds chirping is now the theme music before my morning teams call. The tasks, calls, and chaser reminders complement the midnight owl in me.</p><p class="text-node" id="d6d8">Since I am currently handling projects in India and the UAE, my alarm is the daily morning MS Teams call (due to the time difference). The workdays start with a Dev call aka mood set call, where I update on pending tasks and get to know about upcoming tasks. After the call, I set up a schedule for the week and plan a unique tracker, prioritizing them with respect to the deadlines, which is always yesterday in M2P!</p><p class="text-node" id="mlr054u9i">Once my morning stand-up calls are done, I come into the office, meet my colleagues, make myself a nice cup of tea to start my day. I spend the first few hours responding to pending emails before I begin coding, with which I end the day amidst many Adhoc Teams Meets.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="41ce">What are your main responsibilities as AVP — Product Development?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3246">My role primarily involves bringing the products sold come to life. I understand client requirements, solutionize customized yet simple to use/replicate scenarios and develop solutions.</p><p class="text-node" id="5a1b">My clients are the M2P Sales &amp; BD personnel who give me a download of various client requirements. I love resolving challenges where I work without even realizing how time flies. The sense of accomplishment I gain after that is something else.</p><p class="text-node" id="b210">On a more serious note, my role involves designing, creating, coding, deploying, and testing new products. Sometimes, I provide a helping hand to our tech support, who relentlessly tries to help clients integrate our existing API stacks.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="1499">How have you grown through the years as an M2Peer?</h2><p class="text-node" id="b0b2">I came into M2P as someone with a year’s experience under my belt. As a fresher in the finance industry, I was lucky to get the guidance of Kurukshetran, fondly called Kuru. With his mentoring, I was able to learn quite a lot while honing my skill sets.</p><p class="text-node" id="1253">M2P didn’t just give me a professional platform; the leadership team helped me evolve as a better person by giving me valuable life lessons. Some of the key lessons I cherish are relationship management, people skills, and work-life balance (My curveball!).</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="96af">Is there a quote/saying that motivates you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="333e">As my esteemed colleague, Maathavan, would say, “Don’t work for money. Work for yourself.” That quote inspires me.</p><p class="text-node" id="0d6e">In truth, by working on myself, I ended up working for M2P, and now I’m happy to be around still, as it soars up high.</p><p class="text-node" id="afa4">I’d also like to include another quote from my favorite TV show, ‘The Family Man 2’, which says, “Don’t be a minimum guy.”</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="901b">What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="bc8a">‘I would be a good poker player,’ as I tend to observe people and understand them. Even if I don’t interact with them, I can understand them and catch their bluffs by how they interact with other people 😎.</p><p class="text-node" id="2205">I am also quite tight-lipped /secretive and am not a person who shows more emotions.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="6437">Have you played a practical joke in college?</h2><p class="text-node" id="b6ef">I am a serious person. I don’t make practical jokes. Just kidding!</p><p class="text-node" id="e1b9">Honestly, there are quite a few entertaining ones. But I can’t talk about it since I never got caught, hahaha!</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="ae00">What’s your idea of a perfect day?</h2><p class="text-node" id="d59e">A perfect day is when there is nothing left to do at work, and I can go home without thinking about what is coming tomorrow.</p><p class="text-node" id="e71a">Also, I would like to end my perfect day with Dubai’s sunset evenings or a hot cup of Filli Chai at Kite Beach Jumeirah 😎.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="ce3d">What was your career path before joining M2P, and how has it changed?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3056">I came here with a year’s experience, and it has been challenging, inspiring, and a great learning experience in M2P.</p><p class="text-node" id="8ce6">‘The journey to me is more important than the destination.’</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="6608">What inspires you the most about M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3ea6">The constant drive to achieve and succeed, out-of-the-box thinking, the problem-solving approach, and the care towards employees shown by our leadership and peers is what inspire me the most.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="1f0d">Tell us about your interests/hobbies</h2><p class="text-node" id="328f">I am a PC gamer who loves to travel and watch movies. They built YAP, the API platform that allowed businesses to quickly create and deploy fintech products by customizing all relevant workflows through plug-and-play solutions.</p><p class="text-node" id="816a" style="text-align: justify">YAP simplified the ability of banks and PPI licensed entities to support back-end products by facilitating technology integration, settlement and operational support. M2P’s tech stack has passed numerous regulatory audits and is backed by industry-leading certifications such as PCI DSS ver 3.2.1, ISO 27001:2013, and ISO 22301:2012. Later, we created several marketing programs with Rupay, MasterCard, Visa, Amex, Mercury, and China Union Pay. We also became Visa’s Fintech Fast Track partner across the APAC region and preferred partner for MasterCard globally.</p><p class="text-node" id="7073" style="text-align: justify">By fostering diverse partnerships with 23+ banks, issuers, acquirers, prepaid issuers, emoney license holders, and industry partners across Travel and Forex, Fleet and FasTag, Digital Lenders, Neo-Banking, NBFCs, Gig-Economy players, and traditional bank programs, M2P processed more than $10 billion transactions in 2021. As a result, banks, NBFCs, and businesses needed fintech services and APIs to sustain omnichannel commerce, as economies began encouraging digital touchless payments. This was an excellent opportunity for us to realize our dream of delivering financial inclusion among banks, NBFCs, and other businesses.</p><p class="text-node" id="d1e4" style="text-align: justify">And, there was no turning back from there. Projects started flooding in, and we needed more capacity strength and funding to bolster the surge.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="beae" style="text-align: justify">Funding and Acquisitions</h2><p class="text-node" id="104f" style="text-align: justify">In the beginning, the founding team chose not to be distracted with funding activities. Instead, their strategy was to chisel and scale up the API platform first and then seek funding for overseas expansion. As the India business was and has always been self-sufficient, no external capital infusion was required at that point in time.</p><p class="text-node" id="48d9" style="text-align: justify">In early 2020, angel investors such as Amrish Rau, Pine Labs CEO, Jitendra Gupta, Jupiter Money founder, Kunal Shah, CRED founder, Vikram Chachra of 8i Ventures, Peifu Hsieh of Karbon and Abhishant Pant, Founder of The FinTech Meetup pitched in to raise Rs 10 Cr for the team. We used this funding to develop newer technology stacks, boost team strength, and grow in newer markets outside India.</p><p class="text-node" id="e5c9" style="text-align: justify">In July 2020, series A funding happened, and we raised $4.50 million through venture capital firms Beenext, 8i Ventures Fund, DMI Group, and Better Capital. Angel investors such as Alok Mittal, Indifi Technologies founder, Ashneer Grover, BharatPe founder, Amrish Rau, Pine Labs CEO, and Jitendra Gupta, Jupiter founder, also participated in the Series A funding.</p><p class="text-node" id="6527" style="text-align: justify">In the meantime, M2P grew rapidly and became the fintech enablement partner of choice for SBM Bank. Our partnership grew from strength to strength covering all facets of Retail banking. This model is now being emulated by other large private banks in India.</p><p class="text-node" id="e18c" style="text-align: justify">We also acquired companies such as Wizi and Origa, and made strategic investments in firms like LivQuik to strengthen our cards, credit, and payments ecosystem and improve go-to-market speed.</p><p class="text-node" id="6cef" style="text-align: justify">In less than a year, we raised another $10 million in Series B funding from Flourish Ventures and Omidyar Network India, Beenext, 8i Ventures, and Better Capital. Then I commence work by prioritizing emails and tasks.</p><p class="text-node" id="808b">Let me tell you one secret ingredient for a perfect workday.</p><p class="text-node" id="bef1">It’s the ‘to-do list’!</p><p class="text-node" id="fea7">It helps me plan, follow up, and execute tasks flawlessly. Then I focus on issues based on severity and priority and get my team going on pending tasks.</p><p class="text-node" id="7c1f">I have a secret mantra for my team to prevent issue escalation — ‘Don’t go to sleep with incomplete tasks or unresolved issues.’</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="c66c">What are your main responsibilities as a Service Desk Manager at M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="lrmr8cgks"> My key responsibility is to drive my team forward to do their job seamlessly without any inkling of doubt. My heartfelt thanks to M2P’s founder trio — Madhu, Muthu, and Prabhu, who were truly an inspiration when it comes to being aspirational, smart-working, and lifelong learners. I feel so grateful and lucky to be part of the young and vibrant M2P fam.</p><p class="text-node" id="23cc">My 5-year-old journey made me witness M2P’S growth first-hand from a start-up to one of the finest leading fintech companies now. And at M2P, it is not just the company that grows; every M2Peer too grows parallelly. So, I also feel proud of how I have grown as an M2Peer, and the journey continues.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="b2af">Is there a quote/saying that motivates you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="540b">As I said, my pre-planned day always makes me lookout for a bit of motivation. One such quote which springs to my mind now is</p><p class="text-node" id="ced7">“The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.”</p><p class="text-node" id="3987">This quote makes me work diligently every day and face challenges for a better future.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="0ace">What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3bfe">Ha! I guess now it is time to reveal my secrets.</p><p class="text-node" id="b06f">My colleagues here don’t know that I am a ‘Karate Kid.’ Yes, I have learned martial arts during my schooling. My dad was my biggest supporter who helped me win few trophies at tournaments.</p><p class="text-node" id="2fbd">Oh, wait! I also love to dance. Play any tune, you’ll find me grooving to the beat.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="586c">Have you played a practical joke in college?</h2><p class="text-node" id="c640">We were a frolicking gang of 6 friends who attended school and college together. I had the best of times with them, from bunking classes to watching newly released movies during group studies.</p><p class="text-node" id="2028">This is not exactly a practical joke, but it is one of the most mischievous, memorable moments from college. We were once got caught red-handed playing Holi in college, even though it was banned inside the campus.</p><p class="text-node" id="3424">Things got so serious that we were made to clean college classrooms and washrooms as a punishment.</p><p class="text-node" id="7920">Looking back now, it seems fun, and I miss those days the most.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="d667">What do you like the most about M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="1d04">I love everything about M2P, its flexible work culture, friendly colleagues, abundant growth opportunities, and open work environment. They have helped me grow both professionally and as a person.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="b957">What’s your idea of a perfect day?</h2><p class="text-node" id="fa0c">I always make sure I have a positive and stress-free aura around me. Jayanthi loves listening to fast-paced Tamil songs and is a secret lyricist. She also shares how she misses M2P’s filter coffee. Read on to know more about Jayanthi and how she brings her best every day.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="eab4">What happens in your typical workday at M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="ad92">Being part of the implementation team, I will primarily plan the client requirements and sort out the production issues. Later, I work on resolving them on a priority basis and organize my work calls/emails.</p><p class="text-node" id="e315">I focus on programs assigned to me by monitoring clients’ processes, rectifying the queries, and completing procedures that ensure a smooth process. Before EOD, I ensure that all queries get resolved, and the client is updated on the progress.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="7f7f">How do you balance mom-work life?</h2><p class="text-node" id="720a">It is tricky to manage both.</p><p class="text-node" id="fc82">My son is nearly two years old; he often comes into my room and sits on my lap, wondering whom I am talking to. As I am currently working from home, I am able to sneak off some time to play with my son or make him eat the veggies. Once, he tried to push off the laptop as I did not give him my attention. From then, I make sure I pay enough attention as soon as he enters the room with a warning by shouting “Yeyyy.”</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="011a">How would you describe your journey with M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="ddde">In M2P, I see every day as a new, fresh, and fun-filled day. The journey started five years back in a house, and now we have grown into office buildings.</p><p class="text-node" id="abe9">When I started working here, my focus would be client calls which I struggled in the initial days due to my communication gap. But I overcame the communication issues with my colleagues’ motivation and learned to communicate better with our clients. So now, I focus on rectifying the blocks and motivating myself to become the best of myself.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="uehsit7hd">How does before and after pandemic work differ for you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="0656">Doing work from home has improved communication with my family. But I miss the interactions with my teammates; when seated at the office, to my back was Lekha’s desk, to my side Vasanth, and on the opposite, Prabhu will be there. Also, I miss M2P’s filter coffee that we used to have in the evening breaks.</p><p class="text-node" id="040f">Working from home requires balancing both home and office, so I usually schedule my work not to overlap. In WFH, even though it’s just the device surrounding us, it allows me to work more focused. As I’m a person who analyzes and operates more efficiently when I am alone, this pandemic has definitely improved my work style.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="cc3d">Any favorite moments with M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="8a3a">Every day that I work with M2P is new and different, and there are boatloads of memories that I cherish every day. Once, we had a situation where two hundred cards had an error, and they were shuffled within the consignment of one lakh cards. The situation was a block as it was very challenging to find the cards. But I worked hard on it and retrieved the error cards out of the lot. Everyone appreciated my grit to find those 200 hundred error cards, and I was elated to receive the appreciation afterward.</p><p class="text-node" id="e4d4">Earlier, when we were a small team, every Friday we used to go for lunch in a restaurant — one of the moments which I will never forget.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="a112">What is your post-pandemic plan?</h2><p class="text-node" id="lv6e95eu1">I have always wanted to travel around if I get the time. I would like to travel to different states like go for a tour of India. I like visiting lush green places like Kerala, Kodaikanal, so I wish to see these peaceful places. Post-pandemic, I am excited to go to the office and work and have M2P’s filter coffee back there with my colleagues.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="c1f7">What do you do when you get some leisure time?</h2><p class="text-node" id="xpp4tyivt">I love listening to fast-paced songs and write poems about my mom whenever I find the time. I start my day by getting into the kitchen to make tea while listening and dancing to songs. I feel relaxed and fresh when listening to songs with my cup of positivi-tea. Then, I spend the rest of the available time with my family.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="ab60">Anything that your colleagues don’t know about you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="mbjyk7qyu">I’m very affectionate to people around me and also a silent person at times. I always write poems, but most people don’t know that. I love to sing; when I was in school, I took part in music competitions where I write my lyrics with existing tunes. In 10th grade, I rewrote the ‘Edho oru paatu’ song to lyrics referring to my school memories and got first place in the competition.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="481b">Anything else you want to share with M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="3e7e">I think that every one of us together here makes M2P a family, and I consider M2P to be my second home since I started my career here. I feel grateful for all my experiences and the knowledge I learned from everyone, as they have constantly motivated me throughout my career. Meet Jayanthi — Our Implementation Specialist

Lekha is a wonder woman who handles the responsibility of being a mom and client implementations for M2P like a pro. In addition, she loves doing DIY projects in her free time.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2671"><strong>What happens in your typical day at M2P?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="f70zr8rm4">My day usually begins by listing the work I have for the day, including pending and upcoming work. It helps me set priorities. I always have a habit of religiously reviewing the projects that usually have a high volume of transactions. Then I move on to the pending tasks and then finally, the upcoming tasks of the day. My simple premise is to ensure that my work moves forward minus the glitch and complications.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2029"><strong>What do you do at M2P?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="8424">Currently, I am part of the implementation team, and my role starts right from gathering the client’s requirements to understand how the integration process should be set. I also must set up the mock environment to iron out the kinks we encounter during the process.</p><p class="text-node" id="8fe5">Once the process is complete, I will sign off on the go-live procedures and share them with the client. Then again, I will do the same process, but it will be in the Live environment and do necessary checks all over again.</p><p class="text-node" id="3061">If all is well, I will be monitoring every checklist like customer onboarding, KYC process, transactions (POS/E-com/ATM, etc..), notification, portal access behavior. I will also be liaising with our internal Operations teams and watch out for potential red flags.</p><p class="text-node" id="0bd6">In a word, I would have to be the bridge between the client and the team to ensure the smooth rollout of the program.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="54fd"><strong>Being the first employee, how has your experience been all these years?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="e4cf">To sum it up in one word, it is “<strong>Awesome</strong>.” I have been through challenges that made me pull an all-nighter. But when the issue is fixed, and you get appreciation from both colleagues and clients, that’s worth missing sleep.</p><p class="text-node" id="ef45">We had very limited resources back those days, and as I was the first hire, I witnessed things firsthand. Of course, we were in a nascent stage, and I have donned many hats back then. But our flexibility to accommodate client’s requirements coupled with work ownership resulted in great products and long-standing clients.</p><p class="text-node" id="5b6c">I have been here for a long time since it was a first-year start-up. I am inspired by M2P (Madhu, Muthu, Prabhu), and they have been instrumental in driving its growth. And the main reason would be that it feels like family rather than a workspace.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="87ee"><strong>Can you give me a quick recap of your journey at M2P?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="50d4">I started out as a fresher and was the only employee. So, I have handled all types of work starting from SQL queries, developing Android mobile apps, App testing, vendor coordination, etc. This helped me in strengthening my multitasking skills, and Prabhu always encouraged me to learn. In fact, he is my first guru, and Muthu taught me to go straight to the logs anytime I have a hiccup at work.</p><p class="text-node" id="157e">He never accepts the assumptions and always says, “Log is a source of truth.” That mantra helps me both professionally and personally.</p><p class="text-node" id="639f">My testing capabilities helped me learn the nuances of the payment industry. I am proud to say that in my journey from Trainee to AVP, I have had my share of good and bad experiences. And my bad experiences helped me reinforce my learning.</p><p class="text-node" id="75b0">When I saw one of our best solutions live, it was an unforgettable moment that I relive often. Today I am experiencing that moment often, and I am very proud of our company’s journey.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2030"><strong>Being a new mom, how are you managing work and home?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="236e">It is really tough, so I try to complete all my household work before 9.30. Sometimes my daughter will sleep on my shoulder while I am working. And she observes what I do; whenever my mom asks her, “<strong>What is Amma (mom) doing?”</strong>&nbsp;she will say,&nbsp;<strong>“Amma, hello,helloo laptoppp.”</strong></p><p class="text-node" id="af33">Likewise, the other day I was on a call with a client, and I was walking up to her. Immediately she kept her palm near her ear and started mimicking by saying&nbsp;<strong>“yeah, yeahhhhh,”</strong>&nbsp;like how I talk. My whole family was shocked, and we burst out laughing. It is a great experience as I can enjoy working and motherhood.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="3e27"><strong>Has COVID altered your working style?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="xtgfvct2j"> Yes, having a toddler and working is a bit challenging at times. However, I really miss my colleagues and our interactions. My husband is also in WFH mode, and given my loud voice (laughs), he faces trouble in handling his calls. So, we have decided to keep our workspace as far as we can from each other. It is good entertainment too.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="f540"><strong>What are your other interests?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="f61d">I love cooking, gardening, taking on DIY projects</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="0359"><strong>Have you played a practical joke in college?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="0848">Yes,, there are a lot. For example, I have teamed up with my hostel mates to get snacks from the hostel kitchen. And once I put a lot of salt into my warden’s lunch just because she made fun of me for missing home. And the list of pranks is just endless.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="9f74"><strong>What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="a0e0">I am highly short-tempered, not many people have experienced it, but I am. I am also a good dancer and have participated and won in many college events. With varied interests ranging from agriculture to technology, Maathavan is well-known in M2P for analytical thinking and humble nature. Read on to know more about him and what drives him to be his best at work every day.</em></p><h2 class="heading-node" id="9bf2"><strong>What happens in your typical day at M2P?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="8z7b9j4vc">When I get inside the office, the first thing I do is clean and reorganize my workspace. The level of cleaning often depends on my mood and the time I reach the office. Once the cleaning is done, I start working as per the list I had already drawn up the previous day. While all this happens, I also take a little break to brainstorm and discuss new and existing projects with my colleagues. Often these Eureka ideas happen at the Mulberry tea shop, which is our favorite place to regroup and chat about our plan of action. Those discussions have sometimes gone for two or three hours at a stretch.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="8f39"><strong>Have you always wanted to be a developer?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="gbehv7204">No, not exactly; I wanted to be in so many professions just like every other kid out there. But when I saw my dad, I wanted to be an architect who designs impressive buildings, but in school, I had an aptitude for solving problems. So even though I wanted to opt for Civil Engineering, the popular choice at home was Electronics and Communication Engineering. I also wanted to learn the CORE STEM of Electrical or Computers, so it was a comfortable choice. Soon, software development became my cup of tea, and today I am a Solutions Architect.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="9972"><strong>If you had your heart set on being a developer, how did fintech become a part of it?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="8lay0eluz">Working in the fintech industry happened purely by chance, and I didn’t exactly have any thoughts about which industry I should make my mark.&nbsp;Then, as a fresher, I got an opportunity to work with FSS, where I was exposed to both closed and open-source platform projects that helped me master many software languages. So my learning has been huge in this industry, along with opportunities as well. And then, as they say, the rest is history.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="a7a0"><strong>What drew you to M2P?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="9uhvl81h3">I was working in the gaming industry for some time, but I lacked the drive to be my best during that time. So, I was actively searching for opportunities to be part of the fintech industry again. And as per tradition, we usually turn to our friends when we face professional troubles. Those conversations led my friend to introduce me to Muthu, our CTO. After an insightful discussion, I found out that my thought process had found a match with M2P. It has been a great ride till now.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="8cd1"><strong>Has COVID altered your working style?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="ku2kzkj28">Yes, it has tremendously, and I think like everything else, there are two sides to a coin. I am enjoying the flexibility of choosing my work hours. I also get to spend time with my family and often attend team calls with my little helper (son). But I do miss my co-workers and our interactions. We would brainstorm, discuss and argue about our ideas, solutions, and the next step. It was also fun. I want to get back to physical work as soon as possible (laughs)</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="af94"><strong>Do you see any change in the fintech code community pre and post-pandemic?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="gudp3cr14">Yes, there has been a significant change. Earlier, people were not so trusting with a card, UPI, or NFC payments. With COVID on the rise, people were willing to try out different payment methods. For example, there has been a massive increase in online shopping today, so it creates a demand for payment gateway and other allied services; it is sort of a ripple effect that creates a need for innovative means of payment and so on. In fact, fintech is moving way faster than it was before the pandemic.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="9873"><strong>Have you played a practical joke in college?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="1xn0do0zj"> Nothing much in college, but I did have my share of fun in school. It was my friend’s birthday, and we were celebrating it at another’s friend home, which was near our school. Incidentally, it was the day of our final exams. So, when the whole school was diligently writing exams, we were busy partying. Needless we got caught in the act by our principal, who suspended us for a day. Like these, there are many instances of us playing hooky in school.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="67e2"><strong>What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="tog5ihz3k">I used to write poems during my school and college days</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="7c3a"><strong>What are your other interests?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="sf5w7c369">I love to go on treks, solving puzzles, and play chess and shuttle. Also, I am a hard-core foodie who loves to taste a variety of cuisines.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="3e46"><strong>What will you love to build/develop in case you have unlimited resources and time?</strong></h2><p class="text-node" id="20d8">It is more of a thought process rather than an idea. Meet M2P’s Solution Architect

A die-hard fan of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad, Naren is a quintessential character who loves playing chess and video games.</em></p><h2 class="heading-node" id="8655">What happens in your typical day at M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="a857">I start my day by checking emails, and any actions to be taken will be pinned for review and response. I will prioritize the tasks for the day and begin to work on them. I review pull requests and approve tickets if needed. Sometimes, I seek advice on tasks or related to the projects, join meetings with clients or internal to discuss problems, and arrive at solutions. Every alternate day everyone on the development team will get on a call to discuss tasks we are working on, achieved, blocker which needs help, etc. At various points, we will ship code to UAT with new features or fixes.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="1140">Have you always wanted to be a developer?</h2><p class="text-node" id="f1cb">Yes, I started learning programming in 5th grade, started with (C, C++). My mom was the principal of my school at that time. Usually, she will be the last person to leave. I would wait for her in the computer lab. And as I was fond of playing video games since childhood, the computer lab was my playground. One day, a teacher noticed me lingering in the lab and wanted to know what mischief I was up to. When he noticed my interest, he taught me C language instead, which ignited my passion for programming. I still remember my first program. It was a telephone directory with details of my family members who can be looked up using names.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="d606">If you had your heart set on being a developer, how did fintech and <a class="link" href="https://m2pfintech.com/">M2P</a> become a part of it?</h2><p class="text-node" id="9586">I started my career at IBM, but I had a desire to work in a startup that does not restrict my role only to specific tasks. So, I was on a secret lookout for the same where I would be able to develop my skills in a well-rounded manner. That’s when a friend of mine, who is a co-founder of an App Development company, referred me to Muthu (Co-Founder — M2P), and the rest, as they say, is history. Also, I was a complete novice in fintech before I joined M2P. With the help of founders and seniors, I have learned a lot related to FinTech. In short, what I get here at<a class="link" href="https://m2pfintech.com/"> M2P</a> is conceptual knowledge, not procedural.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="31cb">Has COVID altered your working style?</h2><p class="text-node" id="721d">Yes, No one would have expected 100% working remotely, but we pulled it off. The number of meetings and calls is up, and we have been before our screens more than usual. So, I block my calendar sometimes for intensive coding sessions that help me maintain focus. Also, recently I came down with Covid, and the team supported me all the way when I was recovering.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="92b7">What are your other interests?</h2><p class="text-node" id="4e68">I love to play chess, table tennis, video games, and watch YouTube, Netflix. Once, we texted our entire department to come in black attire, which was (to show opposition to the ruling party that time) as a joke, but everyone got called to the principal’s office, and it got myself and my friends suspended. It was one of those pranks that had horribly gone wrong!</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="0dde">What’s that one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?</h2><p class="text-node" id="b9aa">I’m a left-handed person. Tell us something about yourself?</h2><p class="text-node" id="mq931mb4g">Hi! I’m a very jovial person but I know many people think I am short-tempered! However, the only thing I get very passionate about is work. I love what I do and I’m in a very happy place. I used to be a cricketer and volleyball player in my younger days.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="001a">What drew you to M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="047f">I was involved with M2P before as a service provider and did Hardware security mechanism (HSM) implementation at M2P’s Data center. So, I had a very good working relationship with them prior to joining. My expertise in HSM was noted by Prabhu, our cofounder and he offered me a position. Also, I felt that I can better contribute here and grow as a seasoned professional.</p><p class="text-node" id="l6p45pozp">Prabhu was very encouraging and gave me many opportunities like implementing Mastercard and Visa hardware implementation single-handedly. I also learnt many new things about infrastructure and Information Security along with Data Center Management. His trust in me was crucial to my decision to join the <a class="link" href="https://m2pfintech.com/">M2P</a> family.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="9145">What is your professional motto?</h2><p class="text-node" id="b237">To love what I do. Everything I do, I make sure I have fun with it. Be it sport, farming or my job in networking and security, I don’t see them as tasks or chores but as enjoyable activities.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="d2f9">What are some of your memorable experiences here at M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="a5e3">Bank audit and PCI-DSS audit helped me learn the ropes of the industry. I familiarized myself with the rules and regulations over a period of six months. Along the way, I also got into a lot of friendly disagreements with the audit and bank staff which we laugh about today when recounting those experiences. I have also spent a lot of nights at the office as I was responsible for the primary infrastructure set-up and it was learning experience.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="61d4">How has COVID changed your working style at M2P?</h2><p class="text-node" id="5433">Yes! For the last one year, I have been working from my native village. As I had no internet signal at home, I created a workspace in my field, complete with a tent and a lamp. It was inconvenient when it rained or when the sun was blazing. Thankfully, I set it right this year.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="4c02">What are your thoughts on the future of <a class="link" href="https://m2pfintech.com/">M2P</a>?</h2><p class="text-node" id="6a0f">I am very excited. We are going global and hope to touch 27 countries. Infrastructure must be set up in a big way and I look forward to it. The future will have plenty of adventures. I trust our founders in helping us get through all of them.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="2d54">What do you think about M2P’s culture?</h2><p class="text-node" id="7100">I enjoy the flexibility in terms of timing, dress code etc. No one micromanages anybody and there is a lot of respect and responsibility involved. I enjoy that.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="f900">What will you love to build/develop if you have unlimited resources and time?</h2><p class="text-node" id="9680">I have not really thought about it. My mind doesn’t even go there to be honest. I am really passionate about my field at the moment. Also, I am kept busy firefighting various issues at work, so I haven’t really thought about it.</p><h2 class="heading-node" id="f7ed">What are your hobbies?</h2><p class="text-node" id="6932">I like reading. Especially about my fields of infrastructure, networking and security. If I encounter a problem at work that I don’t understand, I will go home and patiently read about it and increase my knowledge. Otherwise, I won’t be able to sleep!
